My Egypt Trip
Cities/places that were covered: Hurghada, Cairo (Saqqara and Memphis), Alexandria, Luxor, Edfu and Aswan
monuments that i saw: Pyramids, Sphnix, tombs, temples, mosques, citadels, Obelisk, Colossus
other things: papyrus, alabaster, bazaar, River Nile, armed convoy (if my mum's reading this, i better explain to her bout the armed convoy... i wasn't in Iraq but if there's a chance, can i go to Iraq????)
cons: pollutions, absolutely crazy driving, countless hours of travelling, overprice-products, hot afternoon weather, flies, mosquitos
things that i missed: home as usual, the death of George Best, oasis, beaches, the chance to dive in Hurghada
speaking from experience, if you plan to go to Egypt and you need to travel in comfort, join a tour.
the must do are a visit to the pyramids (but forget bout paying to enter the tomb inside), 1-2 mosques and the citadel in Cairo (the Egyptian museum is alright); the pyramids in Saqqara; the Luxor museum, valley of the Kings, Luxor Temple, Karnak Temple in Luxor; Abu Simbel in Aswan.
a great trip overall, but i'm feeling abit under the weather. back to work tomorrow! time to save more money and plan for Russia. fly to Tallign, take a train to St Petersburg, then Moscow and back to Tallinn. Is 9 days enough? hmmm...
