from the BBC news website

Awhat's going on in Singapore

the dengue mosquito - if i'm correct, i think i've gotten dengue fever b4. i felt like shit. but i can't remember which shitty feeling coz i have been hospitalised many times in my life and when i was much younger and i really couldn't remember much details. all i can remember is that i've been in hospital for high fever, dengue fever, toe injury, suspected torsion, traffic accident, lung infection...

blogging - firstly, it was the undergraduate who said something bout A-STAR, then it was the sarongpartygirl and her sexual escapade, racist comments and now, it's bout the students bad mouthing teachers and principals.
my 5 cent worth of comments: everyone should have the right and freedom to speak their mind. the freedom of speech allows an individual space to question and challenge his surroundings. if we are not allowed to challenge things or knowing that the potential consequences of it is too high a price to pay, what's the point in encouraging the people to be creative and different.
if it's something untrue, let it be challenged and the truth be known...
if it's bout somebody's life, please respect people's life and their privacy. don't f***ing make a spectacle of it just because you can't accept it.
racist comments are definately a no no in my opinion.
if a teacher is really shit at teaching, am i wrong to make a comment. will you let a shitty teacher teach your kids? if i don't like someone, am i wrong to voice it out. can't i not like my teacher?
if a teacher is good, the results will be seen. if the students are bad, the results will be seen as well.

so i have to like teacher and accept the potential social ills of gambling because the system says so.

i have nothing against anyone. i'm only against the systems which abuse their authority to make things work in their favour and make it difficult or impossible for others to fight back.

everything should be able to be challenged.

how my Saturday was spent

playing frisbee of course!

it was nice and bright outside the window when i woke up, but when i stepped on the floor, it was absolutely freezing cold and i didn't feel like going to the park. but i still went and had a good time. Aaron, Caleb, Wilfred, Cas and Grace were there and we spent bout 2 hours tossing the frisbee. everyone has their specialities. almost everyone can do a backhand-throw except me. and of course the forehand-throw is my speciality.
i wish the weather will stay like this for the entire year... but i know it won't. so all i hope for is that it doesn't rain on saturdays and that people will still turn up for frisbee even when it's above 10 degree =) if not, i will organise majhong, bridge, spades and shithead!

i can't believe i spent half the afternoon following the football results so that i know how my fantasy football team is doing. i was sitting in front of the tv following the live updates on the scores. the exciting moments were when Aston Villa drew first blood, Danny Murphy scored 2 goals and Man U equalized. it was crap when Chelsea equalized and went on to win the game and Man U lost. at least i think i'm doing ok on the fantasy football league. Jo and Joanne, i'll go ahead and climb up the ranking first ok? the air up here is fresher and i'll try to wait for you guys up there. dont stay down there too long, it's unhealthy! =) if you need advice, feel free to email me.

that's bout it for my Saturday for now. half an hour more to go before the live spanish game starts.

F2... football and frisbee. the current sports in my life... and flirting is not a sport, if not i'll add that too. hehe. just kidding.

things have changed...

football has changed. 10 years ago, football used to be much more entertaining. there were more goals scored, the approach is more adventureous and players don't fall over on the slight contact. football nowadays is different. the goals nowadays are more spectucular but less goals scored too. the over-cautious and defensive approach to the game kills the joy of watching the entire game. kill-joy. did you know that the 97/98 EPL season had 30 0-0 results. there's already 6 0-0 this season... i'm passionate bout football, but watching football now is somewhat different.

some times, i miss the good old days of good old things!

too much tv programme!!!

i've been watching way way too much tv programme.

hmmm... the above statement isn't quite right. i've always been watching alot of tv programme. during my army days, i was channel and net surfing from 6pm to 12am. but now, it's a whole new different level. Cable tv is the difference! and there's way way too much football on tv and i'm not complaining! this week, there was the champions league games, UEFA games, spanish football last night and today, there's the Liverpool vs Man U, Espanol vs Real Madrid and Atletico vs Barcelona and i've watched them all!!! and there's Arsenal vs Everton tomorrow, Barcelona vs Valencia on wed and Real Madrid vs Atletico bilbao on thursday =)

my social life is going to suffer badly. but it's not as if i have much social life to start with.

to be continued... we now go back live to the barcelona game!

internet at flat 16 is up!

blackburn vs bolton, real madrid vs celta vigo, lyon vs real madrid... and a few other matches. it has only been 4 days since cable tv was installed and we've already watched so many matches! boy, i'm going to be so anti-social this year. everything will revolve ard sky tv and football matches on tv.

it's the shoes, clothes, bedsheets, pots, pans, plates, stuff in the fridge, toothbrush, soap, shampoo... the personal belongings lying ard the house makes flat 16 feels like a home. i've more or less settled in. the half an hour's walk to work, the biggest bed i've ever slept on in my life, lying on the sofa now watching tv and putting my legs on the arm-rest of another sofa, NICE! another year to go in london and i shall make full use of my time here.

some time last week, my manager called me into the meeting room and talk bout offering me a permanent contract. the benefits are dental care, 2x rate for overtime work and paid holidays. which's really good coz my temp contract doesn't offer these benefits. but my visa's validity is less than a year, so she gotta to get back to HR while i gotta consider the offer.
honestly, work is getting tougher, doing OT, buried under a mountain of work, being a hyprocrite to certain people on the phone... and i probably pay the highest number of people every week. but that's life. at least that how i think working life is. u fight the battles of getting caught between people, trying to please both sides to resolve things while not getting yourself into trouble.

work work work work work... what else is there?

stel left yesterday...
jo left a few days before that. and i gotta say this. a few of us went to jo's place for dinner the day before she left. and i used my last carnet to get to her place. so i thought i had to pay for the return trip home. however, a girl coming out from the tube station asked me if i need a ticket and she gave me her one-day travel ticket. isn't it nice =) i think she's quite pretty too.

i need more luck with girls yeah.

Queens, PSP and flat 16

Freddie Mercury and Queen is amazing. if you just listen to the songs by Queen, you'll think that they are nothing special. just nice songs and that's it. songs like We'll Rock You, We Are The Champions, Another One Bites The Dust and Bohemian Rhapsody. but if you watch ever see Freddie Mercury performs, you'll change your mind and think that he's amazing. He's not handsome, but when he performs, there's something special bout him that captivates you. i saw him live on the dvd =) and there's only one and there can only be one Freddie Mercury. And when he sings the songs, your eyes are glued to him and the songs somehow makes you feel good... or maybe it's just me.

PSP is out today. not that i'm going to buy one. but it's amazing how Sony is able come up with better and better game consoles. i'm never good at computer games anyway...

moving to flat 16 soon, and it's not just me who's moving out. i think my sister has completed packing her stuff, stel is packing her stuff now and colin the temp resident permit holder is moving out in a few week's time too. we're all moving out and moving along in life.
